Tourist Guide

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Coastal Heritage & Crochet Lace Interpreter to guide visitors through the culturally rich town of Narsapuram. The ideal candidate should be capable of leading tours, providing accurate, engaging commentary on the town’s unique history, and ensuring the safety and positive experience of all tourists. The role requires deep local knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to adapt tours to diverse interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead local and regional tours, providing accurate, engaging commentary on Narsapuram’s unique identity as the “Venice of Andhra” and its historical significance.
• Focus commentary on the GI-tagged Crochet Lace Industry, the town’s Dutch/British maritime history, the delta’s ecology, and prominent temples (e.g., Embermannar Temple).
• Ensure the safety and comfort of the tourists throughout the tour, particularly during river and coastal travel.
• Handle group logistics, including organizing transport, managing ticketing, and scheduling effectively.
• Customize tour content based on tourist interests (e.g., focus on craft, history, ecology, or spirituality).
• Represent Narsapuram and the agency in a highly professional and welcoming manner.

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge: Deep, verifiable knowledge of Narsapuram’s history, local legends, crochet lace production, delta geography, and the significance of the Vasishta Godavari.
• Communication: Exceptional storytelling and public speaking skills. Fluency in Telugu and English is mandatory; knowledge of Hindi or Tamil is highly desirable.
• Attributes: High energy, enthusiasm, patience, excellent time management, and adaptability to changing weather or group needs.
• Certification: Certification from a recognized tourism body or specialized training in cultural or eco-tourism is a bonus.

Preferred Experience

• 0–3 years of experience in tourism, hospitality, public communication, or a related educational field (Freshers with deep local knowledge can also apply).
